Course Objectives

  1. Understanding for contextualization, knowing the relevance of futuristic thinking in a huge range of fields.
  2. Acquiring some basic skills and methods and futuristic thinking
  3. Getting familiarized with the mindset of building vision documents on the background, foreseen futures

Course Outline

Unit 1
Introduction to Futurology and Understanding a system

Learn about establishing cause- effect relations between past, present, and future. Explore interconnectedness within a system and with factors outside that system.

Unit 3
Skills required for futuristic thinking —

Reflect on their thinking styles, enhance the skills required for futuristic thinking, and correct any faults therein.

Unit 2
Study of System and Changes — 

Analyze social systems to identify change agents, variables, or drivers. 
Understand the nature of change, the unpredictability of change, and the necessity for visualizing multiple futures.

Unit 4
Introduction to Techniques for Future prediction — 

Use techniques like scenario writing, futures wheel, and log-frame to predict futures.


Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course participants will be able to –
