Course Objectives
- Understanding for contextualization, knowing the relevance of futuristic thinking in a huge range of fields.
- Acquiring some basic skills and methods and futuristic thinking
- Getting familiarized with the mindset of building vision documents on the background, foreseen futures
Course Outline
Unit 1
Introduction to Futurology and Understanding a system
Learn about establishing cause- effect relations between past, present, and future. Explore interconnectedness within a system and with factors outside that system.
Unit 3
Skills required for futuristic thinking —
Reflect on their thinking styles, enhance the skills required for futuristic thinking, and correct any faults therein.
Unit 2
Study of System and Changes —
Analyze social systems to identify change agents, variables, or drivers.
Understand the nature of change, the unpredictability of change, and the necessity for visualizing multiple futures.
Unit 4
Introduction to Techniques for Future prediction —
Use techniques like scenario writing, futures wheel, and log-frame to predict futures.
Learning Outcomes
At the end of this course participants will be able to –
